The Woman His Heart Overlooked

The cruel contradiction of love and desire.

SHAIRI 005 portrait cover, showing the contrast between warmth and storm.

The finest woman he ever knew
was the one he desired the least.
She offered kindness without conditions,
loyalty without spectacle,
and loved his children
as though they were her own.

Yet his heart remained strangely quiet
before the peace she brought.

Then came the women who set it racing—
beauty that made reason surrender,
passion he mistook for devotion.
But beneath the promises
lay betrayals that turned love
into a battlefield.

One offered peace
without awakening his fire.
Others awakened his fire
and burned away his peace.

How strange the human heart—
to remain silent before devotion,
yet thunder before destruction.

And still, neither choice is fair.

She deserved more
than gratitude disguised as love.
He deserved more
than suffering disguised as passion.

Perhaps wisdom is learning to wait
for a love that is both flame and shelter.

But what cruel mystery is this—
that the heart sometimes overlooks its sanctuary
only to seek refuge
in the very storm that breaks it?
